The Alarcón Theater represents one of the buildings with the most heritage value in San Luis Potosí. It was the first independent theater in Mexico built in 1827, designed by the architect Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras, inspired by the classic European coliseums makes it unique in Mexico. In an eclectic style, its quarry facade is adorned with sculptures that represent comedy, drama, and various musical instruments, as well as allegories that represent the warlike conflict of Independence.
